Five good years
For five years Victoria worked at Dartington College of Arts as Arts Participation Worker. During her maternity leave Gareth took over the role.
Victoria designed and delivered over twenty unique projects. Each involving collaboration with schools, community groups and other artists.
Over those years Victoria explored modes of delivery and the use of different mediums. She worked with Film makers, sculptors, visual artists, gardeners and performance makers. Each project was characterised by a distinctively innovative approach. Each project had the experience of the participants at its heart. The work was done with a serious intent to make engaging art and a belief that learning is primary – the learning of all collaborators. Each project set up situations where people can have surprising exchanges with each-other and their audiences/ public...

the big meet
100 students brought together from five different schools. In mixed groups the students went through a carousel of workshops. Five artists led the groups through varied workshops including, learning a dance, creating themed crazy golf putting holes, future mapping on a large floor canvas and task based performance installation.
dog in the corridor
A series of artist residencies in secondary schools, working with a small group of student curators. The curator group were introduced to the work of their artist and taught some of their methodologies. They then helped the artist set up installations and events for the wider school to interact with. Students were chosen for the project because they had unproductive relationships with school teachers, sat on the margins of the school and were not fulfilling their potential.
Exhibition in the dark
Exhibition in the dark brought together students with Visual Impairments to work alongside a Blind Artist. They created a maze of tactile art and a sound scape of their own voices. Together the students decided to explore the theme of ‘feeling alien’, space aliens were an inspiration as was the feeling of not-belonging that was familiar and relevant to all the group. Their innovative exhibition as part of the Dartington College of Arts’ undergraduate festival.
IT FALLS LIKE A BUILDING
“If you’ve ever been in a situation where its life or death and you feel you’ve cheated death, there’s nothing sweeter than that.”
A blind polar bear, a titanic survivor, the Sea View retirement home and the man from the electricity company… A visual song on loss, loneliness, moments of letting go, reflected in moments of discovery and adventure. Devised and performed by Mrs and Mr Wolf, Teresa Grimaldi and Peter Harrison.
"Rain, coming from countries where it never rains”
"We're all very prepared here, We're not a bunch of idiots Make sure that you've got food, water, ice packs board up the windows,. Make sure you've got a hammer or an axe or a crowbar, you know, the usual stuff. Of course I don't actually enjoy it, you would have to be psychotic to be like that, my psychologist would come over and give me a smack if I said that. We are trying to focus on what we have rather than what we could lose. I've seen it all before. So I think my wife and I will be fine. I have a shotgun by the door and this doozey." (Kisses his axe)
